Sahara Communications, Inc. hired TBNA to develop and design the identity and brand marketing materials for the Prince George’s County Health Department’s initiatives Be a Part of the Health Revolution; Be Healthy, Be Fit [BHBF]; and Healthy Eating, Active Living [HEAL]. The purpose of the programs were to encourage the county’s residents to take charge of their health.
Design Solution: The choices used in the design and branding approach were to engage and inspire people to take action about eating properly, staying active through exercise, and receiving regular health care check-ups. Because the county’s health department required their logomark, the Prince George’s County seal, and funder logomarks to be placed on all marketing
materials, we designed simple logotypes for each of the initiatives using the same typeface while varying the colors for each. To keep in line with the purpose of the programs, the logotypes, image asset library for each initiative, and marketing materials were developed to exude energy and excitement through the use of a bright, cheery, colorful palette. In order to keep the consistent energetic feel of the brand, the image asset library that was cultivated enabled the client to have a wide range of images to use for all of their future marketing outreach materials.
